Join us at Art Studio 23 for a relaxed ceramic-painting session in our Newry studio. Choose your favourite ceramic from our collection, decorate it using our colourful ceramic glazes, then leave it with us to be professionally glazed and fired in the kiln.
Our open studio sessions take place on selected Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a range of arrival times available.
No experience is needed, and our ceramic sessions are suitable for both adults and children.
HOW TO BOOK
Choose your preferred date from the options above.
Select an available arrival time.
Use the quantity box to select the number of people who will be painting.
Pay the £5 booking deposit per person to reserve your spaces.
On the day, choose and pay for your ceramic. Your £5 deposit will be deducted from the price of your chosen piece.
Please book one space for each person who would like to paint.

We regularly offer ceramic painting on selected:
Thursdays
Saturdays
Sundays
If a particular date or time is not showing, it is either unavailable or fully booked.
Advance booking is strongly recommended, as spaces are limited. Walk-ins may be accommodated if space is available, but we cannot guarantee a table without a booking.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SESSION?
When you arrive:
Choose a ceramic from the selection available.
Pay for your ceramic by cash or card.
Select your glaze colours and start painting.
Leave your finished piece with us.
We’ll glaze and fire it in our kiln, ready for collection approximately 2–4 weeks later.
Most people spend around 1–2 hours painting, although this will depend on the ceramic and design you choose. You don’t have to stay for the entire session, but all painting must be completed before the advertised finishing time.
CERAMIC PRICES
Ceramics are paid for separately on the day. Your £5 booking deposit will be deducted from the price of your chosen item.

Is the £5 booking deposit an additional charge?
No. The £5 deposit secures your space and will be deducted from the price of your ceramic when you attend. The booking deposit is non-refundable.
Do I need to book in advance?
We strongly recommend booking in advance. Spaces are limited, particularly during weekend sessions. Walk-ins can only be accepted when space is available.
Is ceramic painting suitable for children?
Yes! Our open studio sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities. Children must remain supervised by a responsible adult throughout the session.
Do I need any painting experience?
Not at all. Ceramic painting is relaxed and beginner-friendly. Our team will explain how to use the glazes and will be available if you need help.
How long does ceramic painting take?
Most people take approximately 1–2 hours, although simple designs may take less time and detailed pieces may take longer. Please arrive at your booked time so you have plenty of time to finish.
Can I take my ceramic home on the day?
No. Your ceramic must remain with us so it can be glazed and fired in our kiln.
When will my ceramic be ready?
Please allow approximately 2–4 weeks for glazing and kiln firing. We’ll let you know when your piece is ready to collect.
Can my finished ceramic be posted to me?
Yes. Please speak to our team during your session to arrange postage. An additional postage and packaging charge will apply.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. We accept both cash and card payments at the studio.
Can we book for a larger group?
Yes. If you’re planning a birthday, family gathering, work event or private ceramic-painting session, please contact us to discuss a private booking.
