Looking for a fun and creative after-school activity your child will love? Our After School Art Club at Art Studio 23 is the perfect midweek boost of imagination and messy magic!

🎨 For children aged 4 to 9
Each week, young artists will explore new materials and techniques, from drawing and painting to clay creations, acrylic pouring, Halloween-themed art, and mask making. It’s a brilliant way to build confidence, creativity, and fine motor skills while having loads of fun!

Week 1 (3 Sept) – Autumn Collage
We’ll paint colourful autumn backgrounds, then cut and stick leaves and a black cat silhouette to create layered seasonal artworks.
Week 2 (10 Sept) – Watercolour Painting
Children will learn wet-on-wet watercolour techniques, blending colours and painting simple landscapes or imaginative abstracts.
Week 3 (17 Sept) – Acrylic Pour
A fun, child-friendly acrylic pour session. Kids will pour bright colours onto boards or canvases and watch the magical marbled patterns appear.
Week 4 (24 Sept) – Halloween Clay Sculpture
We’ll get messy with clay as children sculpt their own Halloween-inspired witch’s hat using simple hand-building techniques.
Week 5 (1 Oct) – Clay Painting + Scratch Art
First, we’ll paint and decorate last week’s clay sculptures and add an LED light. Then we’ll explore scratch art — scratching designs to reveal rainbow colours underneath.
Week 6 (8 Oct) – Halloween Painting
Spooky fun with pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and witches. Children can paint or collage their own Halloween scenes using glow-in-the-dark or metallic details.
Week 7 (15 Oct) – Mask-Making
We’ll design and decorate Halloween masks with feathers, sequins, glitter, and paints — perfect for kids to wear and play with.
Week 8 (22 Oct) – Printmaking
This week children can try printmaking (using leaves, sponges, or foam stamps to make repeating patterns)
Week 9 (29 Oct) – Puppet Making
For our finale, children will design and make their own Halloween or autumn puppet. They can create witches, cats, owls, or forest creatures using card, fabric, and sticks. We’ll finish with a short, playful puppet performance in small groups.
