One-Day Floral Still Life Painting Workshop
Join us for a day of painting a floral still life directly from life, using oils and the alla prima technique.
Throughout the day, participants will explore composition, colour mixing, values, and expressive brushwork, while learning to simplify what they see and make confident decisions directly on the canvas.
We will focus on:
• Composition and visual structure - creating a balanced and engaging painting
• Colour mixing - understanding colour relationship and mixing clean, harmonious colours
• Seeing and simplifying - identifying the main areas of value and colour, and developing the painting from general to detail
• Alla prima technique - strategies for working wet-on-wet, from the initial block-in through to final adjustments

Location: Art Studio 23, 26 Upper Water St, Newry
Date: Sunday 8th November
Time: 10am - 4pm
Tea/coffee provided, scones and biscuits.
